Brian Bevan - Hall of Fame

“They’ve been used by most World, National and Regional champions of IJSBA PWC racing in many different classes (junior, beginner, amateur, expert and pro) and have been broken down to model and engine sizes for each class, for more than 13 years,” says Bevan.

Moving product fabrication techniques from one industry to another isn’t a simple task, but Bevan was determined. His foray into the outdoor kitchen arena originated while in his inventor mode, when he sought a solution for making outdoor kitchen cabinetry that would be low-maintenance and look good after years of use. He joined forces (officially in 1998) with his partner, Terri Norwood, a custom cabinetry maker. From that point forward, there was no looking back. Today, the successful duo is no stranger to awards. In & Out Cabinetry and Outdoor Lifestyle Products are recipients of multiple ADEX awards (three years running) through Design Journal as a leader in outdoor kitchen categories for developing a European styled line of low-maintenance cabinet grade all element polymer board outdoor cabinetry and grill islands. The ADEX seal for quality design is a national competition juried by renowned design experts.

“I’m humbled to be inducted into the IJSBA Hall of Fame,” says Bevan. "What makes this recognition so special is that it comes from people who were and still are so critical to everything that I have accomplished." The Third Annual Hall of Fame ceremony will be held on October 11, 2008, at the London Bridge Resort’s Convention Center in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. Inventor of Fully Adjustable Sponsons Inducted into International Jet Sports Boating Association Hall of Fame

The Origin of Bevan’s Inventive use of All Element Polymer Board comes Full Circle

Oneco, FL – All great ideas have a beginning.

In & Out Cabinetry is no exception. Brian Bevan, the innovative entrepreneur behind the fabrication of specialized outdoor kitchen cabinetry took an unbeatable concept from one industry — the sponson (made of all element polymer board), used in the PWC industry — and parlayed it into a winner in another. Deep down, he always knew he was on the cusp of something big.

“Sponsons propelled me forward, literally,” says Bevan with a grin. He has plenty of reason to smile and smile big — he’s a 2008 inductee into the Jacobsen-Stjernstrom IJSBA Hall of Fame. The International Jet Sports Boating Association is the worldwide sanctioning body for personal watercraft (PWC) competitive racing. “It’s an honor, of course,” says Bevan, who also happens to be a U.S. PWC national racing champ. "It's something you don't expect to have happen to you."

Each year, the induction ceremony is dedicated to the lifetime achievements of those who have been important figures in the sport of PWC racing. “My work in personal watercrafts remains meaningful, especially since the use of all element polymer board has enabled me to create products that span industries.”

Beach House Engineering led the PWC industry with the design of the Fully Adjustable Beach House Sponson. ”It is still sold today,” he says happily.

Bevan’s steady success in the personal watercraft industry has indeed brought him to where he is today: the leading manufacturer of In & Out Cabinetry and other items under the umbrella of a second firm, Outdoor Lifestyle Products, including grill islands and casual furniture. The hook: All products are manufactured from all element polymer board.

This product concept is credited directly to Bevan’s work in the marine/personal watercraft industry and sponsons — “We invented fully adjustable sponsons for the sides of the PWC [aka Jet ski'].” “Sponsons are mounted at the rear of the PWC and help with stability, buoyancy and handling. They make the PWC feel like it’s on rails,” he exclaims. “The product makes it so the PWC can turn at top speed (up to 80+ mph) and turn on a dime.” Essentially, sponsons act like fins and rudders.
